About Shevaré

 

Shevaré is a multidisciplinary artist working across costume design, visual art, poetry, fashion, and education. Her work brings together art, theatre, history, and storytelling, with a focus on Black culture and stories that are often overlooked or untold. She received the Arts and Education Council’s Emerging Artist Award in 2022 and the St. Louis Visionary Award for Emerging Artist in 2023. Curiosity continues to drive her work as she explores new ways to create and tell stories.
